全24部門のうち12部門にノミネートしていた『The Last of Us』がGame of the Yearを含む10部門で受賞という快挙を成し遂げました。その他には『Bioshock Infinite』及び『Plants vs Zombies 2』がそれぞれ2部門で受賞しています。
なお、業界の重要人物に贈られる賞としては、Rockstarの創設者であるDan Houser氏とSam Houser氏、そして社長のLeslie Benzies氏が“Hall of Fame”に、『Defender』『Robotron: 2084』『Smash TV』などを手がけた事で知られるアーケードデザインのレジェンドEugene Jarvis氏が“Pioneer Award”に選出されています。
